Pastor Sirdelrol V. Drayton, Senior Pastor of New Generation Christian Fellowship in Jacksonville, Florida, is a multi-gifted, humble man of God who is committed to raising God's standard for the Body of Christ. Pastor Drayton is an anointed teacher and preacher who believes that "in all of our getting, we must get understanding of God's word." The mission of New Generation is to reach the lost, enlighten the religious, equip God's Saints, and to prepare a people for the Lord's return.
Pastor Drayton was born on January 17, 1967 in the city of Jacksonville. He is the last of five children of Mr. and Mrs. Roosevelt and Vera Mae Drayton, Sr. As a child growing up, Pastor Drayton always manifested a seriousness and uniqueness about himself. This uniqueness was recognized by a mentor and next door neighbor, Bro. Rod Pooler, who nicknamed him "Rev. Boo". This marked the initial prophetic utterance concerning Pastor Drayton's ministerial mandate as well as planted a seed which eventually led him to inevitably receive the Lord Jesus Christ in May of 1980 at the age of 13.
Pastor Drayton attended public schools in the city and graduated with honors from William M. Raines High School in 1984. Afterwards, he matriculated at Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA during the fall semester of the same year.
In January of 1985 ,while at Morehouse, he succeeded Rev. Johnathan Alvarado (Founder of the newly formed New Life Inspirational Gospel Choir) and became the Executive Director of the Group. As his love for God grew stronger along with his musical development, he yielded to the call of God on his life to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was licensed to preach at the age of 21 by Pastor Levi white, Jr in November of 1988.
As Pastor Drayton continued to provide leadership to New Life as it grew from 8 to approximately 100 voices, he was elevated by God to the pastorate at the Pilgrim Travelers Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA in November of 1990. After serving faithfully over both Pilgrim Travelers and New Life, he was commissioned by God to return to Jacksonville and resigned as Pastor and Executive Director and relocated on April 1, 1993.
In July of 1993 he joined the Potter's House Christian Fellowship in Jacksonville (formerly Word of Faith Church), under the leadership of Bishop Vaughn M. McLaughlin,to receive further training concerning the Ministry of Christ. While at The Potter's House, Pastor Drayton was also privileged to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in Biblical Studies from Logos Christian College and Graduate Schools in March of 1997 located in the city of Jacksonville and is soon to complete his Master's degree in Pastoral Theology.
As his borders were expanded to see the Lord's vision for the Body of Christ, his burden to see the religious brought out of bondage intensified. After much deliberation and prayer, the season and time came to pass and birth was given to New Generation Christian Fellowship on November 7, 1999. In December of 1999, Pastor Drayton and New Generation entered into Covenant Fellowship with Apostle Halton "Skip" Horton, Elder Alicia Horton and The Daystar Tabernacle of the Brightstar Church located in Douglasville, Georgia.
Under Pastor Drayton's leadership and teaching, the church has experienced tremendous spiritual growth and insightful revelations from the word of God and is undoubtedly destined to be a beacon of light in its community as well as the city of Jacksonville and abroad. Biblically sound teaching and preaching, along with anointed praise and worship highlight the worship experience at New Generation.
In addition to Pastor Drayton's commitment to sound teaching and preaching, he is an accomplished musician, vocalist, composer and music director. He loves music as well as the word of God and his vision includes the recording of praise, worship and Gospel music as well as authoring biblically based books in areas such as step families, covenant relationships in the Body of Christ and successful Christian living.
Pastor Drayton is married to Elveta E. Drayton and they currently have 2 children, Brandon and Christina. They're believing God for two more children, Christopher Xavier and Adia Victoria. Through the anointing of Jesus Christ, many lives have been and will be changed throughout the world as he fulfills the awesome call of God that's on his life.
